Yea, come to find out the front is a 4.09 and the rear is a 4.10 set-up.

Most Wanted

My son was a little mad when he found out his front and rear diffs were geared differently (4.10 front and 4.56 rear). He just paid $459 for a front drive shaft and before we installed it we did the tire rotation/drive shaft rotation trick). According to the trucks Vin # and axle code I thought we had a 4.10 rear, but it has 4.56s which isn't bad but now we need to do the front gears. So back to the point, my don was pissed and pit his truck on Craigslist for $5500 and pretty much instantly we had three guys wanting it, even a guy over seas that didn't even care to see it before he sent $$$. My son decided to keep it and just save up for the front gears. I can't believe how bad people want these SAS crawlers. They are bad ass, don't get me wrong but I was surprised how easily he could have made a good bit of money off it.

Personally I would look for a 2 set of 4:88 from a 92 to 95 from a pick and pull (door code G144)... It would probably be cheaper than regearing the front. Just my $0.02

Toy gear won't fit a Dana 44.

When you guys put it on Craigslist did you mention the mismatched gear sets?

Personally I have never considered the rotate the d/s as accurate. On a loose dirt surface does the t/c bind
in 4wd?

Haven't tried it. The front drive line spun 20.5 rotations per 10 rotations of the wheel x that by 2 and we got 4.10 or 4.09 which is what is inside for sure, then we spin the rear wheel 10 times and got 22.75 rotations on the shaft x that by 2 and you get 4.56s. I didn't want to try it on the dirt because that's way to far apart, the rear would be out running the front.

Having to regear one diff is no reason to get rid of a rig like that, It looks really nice. You can pick up a new ring and pinion for a couple hundred bucks, letting that truck go is something your boy will be kicking himself over later.

If u are in dirt you can check it for sure. My 94 has 4.88 rear and 4.10 front. I have accasionaly used my 4wd. If u keep it in dirt or spinning your not gonna break anything.

Doing this you can check to be positive. If your ratios don't match it will not come out of 4wd unless you back up a bit while shoving the transfer case shifter.

I have a 4.88 front. I'm just to lazy to go out it in.

This is safe? I just want anything binding or breaking. Not saying I don't trust your recommendation but can someone chime in and second this? I'm new to this so no offense, like said I just don't want to risk breaking anything.

Thanks for the comps. Yeah I'm glad he decided to keep it. It is unlike anything else you see on a daily basis.

I have to agree with the overseas caller most likely being a scam. And I don't think snobdds is being overly sarcastic, I just think he, like me, has seen many people get screwed over, so if he can help someone, he will, though he may come off as sarcastic.

I ran into one of those "my kid died in a drunk driving accident and we are selling this because it brings us such grief" scams. People are pretty F'd up.
