1988 Toyota pickup won't stay idiling

Put a brand new carburetor, fuel pump, distributor cap,new plugs, new plug wires, and pcv valve. Pulled the gas hose off the carb and it dumps gas so I put it back on. The truck will start if I have my foot on the gas. It will sometimes idil but for about 2 minutes and die. Done adjusted the carb idk how many time. Put new gas in it and still won't run or run right. Been working on this truck for almost 2 years. I've even tried looking up videos and stuff about it and I find nothing helpful.

What was the reason for the brand new carburetor, and fuel pump?

The carb had had never been changed and I had rebuilt it a few times but nothing worked so I got a new one. And it was pumped out gas like a week ago but yesterday it stopped. So I changed the fuel pump and gas started coming out but still not idiling
