1988 Supra alternator in 1993 3vze 4runner?
My alternator is dead so I went to the junkyard for a 'new' one. I did fine one but I also walked past a 1988 Toyota Supra and remembered reading somewhere on a thread about the Supra alternators being compatible. I figured I would buy it (half price day at the junkyard) and figure out the details later or just sell it.
So does anyone know if the swap is direct? The mount looks the same except the Supra grounding lead screw is bigger than the terminal on the car. Needs to be bored out but what about the electrical figures, will it work?

I decided to just go ahead. So far, the plug is different from the 93, the negative contact terminal had to be enlarged to accommodate the larger bolt, and the pully on the supra is wider. Also it doesn't fit as comfortably where the 12mm bolt on the bottom of the alternator attaches because the supra is considerably wider than the oem 4runner.
Update soon.
