hi all,

i would like your help to figure out what engine + transmission should i swap my Engesa 4 FII (F2).

but first i would like to introduce my friends car which i had for a long time but out of my stupidity, we sold it out. it was 1985 4runner with a BMW M50B25 engine (2500 cc L6 engine). it was a beast on/off road.

i bought an ex-military vehicle, Engesa 4 which got stock transmission and t-case ( no low ration on the t-case but got a low transmission ratios) matted to OPEL c25xe.

i am willing to swap a TOYOTA 1jz-gte or BMW M50B25, both are cheap in my country, for both engines i am willing to use a toyota transmission and t-case which i dont know what model yet, g52/w56/w59/r150f/r151f.

i dont know how to differentiate between,

on the 4runner which is mentioned above, transmission and t-case sicks where next to each other, which i think L50/L52 !!!

im going to use my engesa %80 on road daily run, %20 off roading, we have plenty of sand, we have a near damm for mudding, and a little bit of rock crawling.

the engesa diffs ratios are 3.90, and i am running 33" BFgoodrich TA KO on 10" wide wheels.

sorry for the long thread but i am desperate for Advice.

on the other hand, you are all more than welcome to visit Jordan, wadi rum is one of the best desert location on earth, we lately worked on the film "the martian".

thank you all.

the 4 runner you have pictured should have had a w56 in it if was a factory 4 cylinder. you can swap in a toyota powerplant and driveline as long as the axles have the proper side drop. then you just need some custom driveshafts.
