No it is not quite that easy!!

You would need the engine harness with sensors and the ECU

You would also need to upgrade the fuel system to the higher pressure needed for the injectors

If this is what you meant by getting the intake and fuel rail and some of the wiring .

Then it would be Yes

If you mean a full on conversion from a 22r to 22re that is a big No. You have to do a major tear down from one end of the truck to the other. I am currently doing one and will be doing some more later today. Here is what I have gotten done so far. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52146627 and on to the following pages. I figure I am 40% done.

I will eventually make a thread doing it step by step, but even still there is alot of information that would take a book to write as of all of the differences in the wiring, injectors, and so forth. You have to swap tanks, fuel lines, gut the interior, it is a big job.

Ok. Do I have to rebuild or can I leave the motor the way it is? I don't have power steering yet. Lol. Did come on my truck.

I could tell you. I just got it about a month ago and have been having problems with the carb ever since. And I think it has had a timing chain done. And it's got like 206x

What kind of problems are you having with your carb? Is it stock? You might also want to look in to a weber carb conversion. If you can get them tuned right, you wont have to deal with most vacuum problems and any problems your stock carb might have. Jetting is key however.

Right now I'm getting my carb rebuilt and I have my buddy's he let me borrow on right now and it makes it run worse then the other one. I know where your coming from with the weber carb but I'm going to try an see how it goes with my stock one.

When you say its running worse what do you mean? Running too lean? Too rich? Bogging down? No bottom end power? No top end power?

It's lugging on me until I step on it. And my carb that is getting rebuilt was too rich and we couldn't get it to run right with it on. It just didn't want to run.

Dont narrow it straight down to the carb. You sure all cylinders are firing? Whether it be due to compression, spark or fuel? You could have a dead cylinder causing no bottom end power. have you checked the timing? Could also be a possibility. I would check timing with your buddies carb and make sure it's on point.

The carb that I have on now is out of a 83 22r. It is sucking to much air if I can remember right. Some of the vacuum is all different then my stock one that I had on. And yeah just checked yesterday. Just replace wires, cap, rotor, plugs. Timing was on right before I changed the carb. But I will look again.

Just give us an update once you get the rebuilt carb back on and we can work from there if your problem is not solved

Hey guys I'm still waiting on my carb but it should be done soon. We ran a compression test today and it was around 175 in all 4 cylinders.

I'm still trying to figure out if I have the same head as a 22re.
