Holy crap! That is really cool to see, I like the old school hockey stuff. Just seems so weird on a truck. If that was driven by some player I wonder who? I just picture a bunch of them partying it up hard and just bagging the hell out of the truck. Anyway nice find.

I just got it because I thought it was pretty cool. I don't plan on fixing it up it will probably just sit next to my other yotas I have for parts until somebody comes along and buys it. It would be nice to see a complete truck like this but where on earth would you find one. anybody want it let me know. thanks

And there are 36 more out there somewhere, hopefully one is still in mint shape.

That is pretty wild. It seems like that it was a dealership or customization company that did that though. It's kinda weird too that they used a DLX for a special edition truck.

This "NorthStars" is a cool find. I had VW Vanagon....'84 model...Westfalia camper about 14yrs ago. It had a label on the kitchenette cabinette that said who and where it was customized over in Europe. Some little private job. Don't remember who or where it was done, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.....until I rearended someone who came to a dead stop on the highway. Shoved the steering wheel straight up almost to the roof and the pedals into my legs. Ouch! Needless to say, it was totaled. Bummer....

I DO believe you. All I was saying is its not a factory toyota job. It was likely implimented by the individual dealership, or as a custom job at a shop, perhaps for a trade show/shows?
Its sorta like that 4runner "Special Edition" that was posted on here a while ago that was for sale on Ebay. That was all stickers on that truck, but no custom paint.
Myself, i am excited to see pics and can't wait! The dealerships had a lot of wacky paint schemes done to the trucks to make them more appealing to that weird multi-color 80's crowd.

Hey my truck is a special edition 1st gen. As far as i know they were only available in canada and was another option to getting an SR5. From what i know they came with a custom two tone paint (like mine) and had a few decals on the side and one on the back of the tailgate. They all had AC, SR5 seats and had running boards. Everything else is pretty much DLX trim, including all of them having 22res in them. Mine has been repainted in the orignal paint scheme and the so the painted decals are gone and the one on the tailgate fell of years ago.
As they phased out the 1st gens they put together all sorts of weird parts combos to try to run out the overstocks.

"Geneva Luxury Motor Vans..."
There's your answer as to what it is. I can find mention of Geneva Luxury Motor Vans on the net but no definitive info.
That's a very cool, but worthless find... I would have been all over it too.
Nice first post... Way to read all of the thread before you hit reply.
