Thermo sensor touching catalytic converter element....s'ok?

The thermo sensor on my truck is touching the element on the new magnaflow cat I installed. What do? Is there a shorter thermo sensor out there? I imagine it'll read hot...what will that cause?

Not really sure if it will cause a problem, but you can always space it out a bit. I think an 18mm anti-fouler should fit the bung. You may have to drill it out a bit to accommodate the sensor, but it should give you about an extra inch of clearance. You can find them in the "Help" aisle in pretty much any auto store, and they come in a two pack. I've used these for spacing sensors in exhaust for years, and they always tend to do the trick and stop any codes from being thrown.
