Search young grasshopper.....this gets covered about 15 times a day lmao..

33's are nice with 4.88's
35's are nice with 5.29's
if ya wanna you can go with some 5.71's...but it'd be best to have em treated so they don't end up breakin lol

is it ok if i have 5.29's on when running 33's

5.29s are too much for 33s imo.

I feel that 4.88s are better for 35's and 4.56 gears for 33's. Its a bit of personal prefernce and if you want lower rpms on the highway.

I'm running 5.29s with 33's, until I wearout the 33s and can upgrade to 35s.
It's Definitely Torquey with this set up. But I wouldn't recommend it for a DD. Not to mention its taching like 4000 at 70 mph (actual) reading about 79 on the speedo.
I ran 31s with stock gears and was about 10% over geared. I ran these 33s with stock 4.10 gears and was about 14% over geared. Now, running 33s with 5.29's, I figure about about 14% undergeared. It's definitely torquey, but not fast. I'm looking forward to trying 35s with these gears.

I haven't had a chance to trail ride it since installing the gears. But I'm stoked to this spring. : )

Good Luck with it!

If it is off road only, and your not crawling in the rocks. Then why do you need to regear? The 4.10 gears have a stronger pinion then 5.29's. You need wheel speed and HP for mud. Pop it in low range and have at it :)

but i just thought i would have to change it but if 4.10 is good for 33's then i'll leave it because it does drive good and play good just thought diffrent gears would make a diffrents

camo31_10.50 01-17-2010 03:56 PM

well..you could pop it in 4lo and 2nd gear and it's about the same as 4hi and first..( a little slower actually..but not much) i rarely use 4hi anymore..i'm in either 4lo and 2nd or 3rd LMAO

Etype R 01-17-2010 03:56 PM

If your happy with it, no need to change it :)

Most of us are into crawling, and need the lower gears for the rocks.

Also if you do re-gear it will depend if you have manual or auto. I can get away with 5.71's and 35's when tippy was running because she was auto and her tall overdrive made it work perfectly.

Anyway yes please earch a little more. ;)

When i go muddin i use 4hi and 2nd. When i try to put it in 4lo then tuck would not really move all so much
