I am looking for pic's of a 84-88 single or xtra cab with a short wheel base 79-83 bed on it.

I have searched the net for about 2 hours now with no luck.

Hate to say it, but it's way more likely to be the other way around. The beds on first gens tend to rust out and the next gen is obviously newer. If you're just looking to know if they bolt up, I s'pose shortbed to shortbed and longbed to longbed works. A buddy of mine has an '82 with a 2nd gen longbed on it, and I recall seeing a rig on a magazine cover that had a 3rd gen shortbed on a 1st gen frame and cab.

i have a 85 2nd gen cab/chassis with no bed and i have a 1st gen bed laying around but i'd have to weld on all new bed mounts to the chassis because it was replaced from the cab back. i just want to see it on something before i do it.

As someone mentioned earlier, it's usually a newer bed going on an older truck so you're probably not gonna find any pictures. Just sayin.

Two guys can easily lift a bed...throw yours on for a test fit and post a picture!

i saw it once...unless you cut out the front 2nd gen fenders to match the rounded wheel wells of the 1st gen bed it looks like poop
