Need Help With Engine Fast!!
hmmm weird i posted this 2hours ago..yet its not on board anywhere nor in my history and i know i hit submit and not preview.. Anyway..
I installed a stereo system this weekend, subs, amps, door speakers and so on. I've done this alot in all my vehicles. So i touched nothing that wasnt associated with the stereo and since i had to take out seats i didnt drive it friday and saturday. So today i go to drive and it wouldnt start. I turn the key and not even a click from the starter. Dash lights dont go dim or anything nor do the appropriate lights turn off when key turns to start.Battery is new...i cleaned the terminals and cables.Checked all fuses i could find, in cab and next to battery.I opened up the lower plastic covering steering column and pulled off the ignition switch relay and turned it myself, same result. I see no wires that had come loose or disconnected while installing stereo. I need help even faster now since original post didnt make it. I need truck tomorrow or im screwed. |
What year? Check the wires that go from the battery to the fuse box. Wiggle them and the wires that go underneath the fuse box under the hood.

check that the ignition cables are intact. i assume you got out the voltmeter and checked the battery.

just figured out the problem. i was thinking about everything i took apart or moved. I took apart the center console over transmission shifter. Some how the connect for the NUETRAL START SWITCH is shorting. Yet nuetral nows works. I tried it before in park and nuetral but nothing. Now for some reason its starting in nuetral but still not in park. Guess i'll have to clean all connections and plugs.
