Mysterious electronic-VSV? HELP!
Ok, so here I am replacing every vacuumn line on my 1984 22R just for the Hell of it. In case there's any leaks. Well come to find out, my fender-mounted vacuum switch is not even hooked up to anything. Also, there is some sort of electronic VSV setup right underneath it that is not listed in any vacuum diagrams (FSM, Chiltons, etc.)
Can someone tell me what the Hell this is and where it should hook up to? Right now its hogging up a vaccuum port that my vacuum switch should be hooked up to (its the rectangular box with the upside down writing). http://a810.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...7af359e459.jpg |
You mean the one with the blue plug right? I would try to compare it's wires to the wiring diagram by color.

No the blue plug and the main vacuum solenoid switch are both listed in wiring diagrams. Its the little rectangular box with the upside down printing (towards the bottom middle of the photo). Please help me out!

Just to get rid of any confusion I circled the part you're talking about. I have no clue what it is. I'd have to guess its something only cali trucks got due to smog. I'm sure someone will come up with an answer soon enuff though. paging 4Crawler. |
Looks like my A/C idle up VSV. Mines on the valve cover. Do you have A/C
Wires should be (on 1985 22re) Black/red and Light Blue, Idle up VSV |
