Lspv help!
I have a 86 pickup and my wheel cylinder blew. Replaced it. While bleeding it a line blew. Replaced it. While bleeding it again another line blew. Replaced it. Now I’m bleeding it again and my lspv is only letting a very tiny amount of break fluid bleed out the rears. I’m sick of trying to find solutions to reset it but can’t find anything this is my last chance to fix it. I’ve tried everything from making a “fake leak” up front to try to trip it back to lifting up the adjustment bar to the bed and trying to bleed it. Nothing works can someone please explain how to trip it back so it works again or explain in detail how to add a manual lspv. Thanks reading my terrible grammar! Any advice helps thanks! |
1st off, your in the wrong section, this is for 84-85 trucks
With that said, there is not "reset" it's a valve! Push it down and it slows the amount of brake fluid to the rear brakes, push it up and it allows more brake fluid to the rear brakes. I think you need a FSM (factory service manual) |

That said These LSPV in the great rust belt are a royal pain . It sounds like it might be time to replace all the steel and rubber brake lines You just need to run a new brake line from the Master cylinder to the tee that goes to the rear brakes Now is the time to buy a double flaring kit The manual valve goes in this new line I put the manual valve under the hood close to the Master cylinder so it is easy to access and adjust Adjusting is trail and error the more the valve is opened more fluid to the rear brakes Plug the lines at the front brake where the lines from the LSPV go. Two plugs or make a short line in a loop. |
