Looking for a shock

I recently picked up an 85 truck that appears to have springs with a slight lift. I'm rebuilding the front axle, and with the axle sitting on the jack stands, the existing shock length is 18 inches (top to center of bottom mount). I'd like to replace the shocks while I have it out of commission, but it appears I'm in between a OEM and a 2-3" lift spec??

I'm a newbie at this, but am thinking that I could put a shock with about 8 or 9 inches of extension on here. Looking for recommendations, or links to shock fitment charts.

Thanks

I'm looking at a Rancho RS5007. Specs are 14.875" compressed, 25.25 extended (sitting on an 18" base level as it sits now)

Old Man Emu is a better shock, in my opinion. And they make them for small lift trucks. A little research will get you the correct one, or any OME dealer/seller.

i got my lift from pro comp and the fronts up to 4 inch lift are the stock shock travel. so if you really wanted a napa, az or what ever will have that shock. but poke around on rancho's site and see if they cant seem to help you out.

OK, here's what it looks like I'm doing . The front end of this truck sits about 1.5 inches higher than stock, the back end has 2" blocks on the axle. These prevent the E-brake from being able to work. I'm going to pull off the blocks and put on shackles that will give about a 1.5" lift, and install some Rancho RS5000's (4 of them for $179 at 4-WP's). Looking at the front ranging from about 14 to 24 inches, and the back to range from about 16 to 26 inches (compressed vs extended). Tomorrow I start putting the knuckles back together....
