leaf springs
 

my leaf springs seem to have something wrong with them, they are completely flat
is that bad?

Where could i get new ones/fix the old ones if they are bad?
any suggestions about fixing this?

Yes that is bad. Trail Gear.com Check out there replacement springs. Or Marlin Crawler, AllPro, and the list go'es on. Just Don't buy the first spring set you see, do the research! You will be happer with it that way.

Hey,also Toyota Performance.com (I Think that's the name) has some, what they call helper springs to fix rear spring sag. They are $50. I think.

Lots of options for replacement, the OME 2" lift spring+shock kit is pretty good for a bolt-on, off-the-shelf spring kitL

I was just about to post this identical question.

My brother is selling his 85 ext cab pickup. The front springs look exactly like yours were 4crawler.

My parents are going to sell thier pash|t (99 VW Passat) and buy it off him. If they do this I'm going to rebuild the motor and put the intake off our 87 2wd 22R on his as he's got a Weber that I hate... or maybe if it becomes in our posession I'll have more motivation to rebuild his intake properly and jet it right... He never gate two craps about fixing the intake vacum leak till about 3 days ago ... 2 days before he decided to "EFF THIS JUNK" and buy a 2009 Tacoma!!

anyway, i wanna replace the springs, shocks, rebuild the front axle, motor and throw some nice Runner buckets in for my dad to make it an allround good truck for them that hopefully will be maintnence free for years.

All the vendors i could find online selling OME springs have no description on the springs. Are they direct stock replacements or do they actually have lift?

I just want to replace the springs and then put ProComp ES3000's on for the shocks (and happy with my ES9000's, think a softer shock would work better tho)

and i see they have medium, HD and lite? Whats the difference i cant find any SPECS!

They are generally stock length springs and will bolt up to the existing spring hangers and shackles w/o modification. The springs I have seen are typically 2" lift. I have heard that the HD springs are very stiff unless you have a truck that is much heavier than stock.

How bad is it?
like, bad enough that i need to stop driving it until its fixed?

I drove my '85 like that for about a year after I bought it before I finally replaced the springs. In stock form, those front springs never had much of any arch to them.

Thats good, because it will be a while before i can aford to fix them because they are very expensive
