I'm surprised to hear that the thing came from the junkyard. I'm building my truck now and it has holes in the frame and the floorboards are rusted out, and I have seen much worse trucks being built on Pir4x4. Good find for sure!

hes in california, rust really isnt an issue there, i live in va and ur lucky to find a 80"s model toyota with a good frame and dont even think about finding a rust free bed, its not happening, very nice runner though man, ima post some pics of my 85 that i salvaged

That is legit! Ive been really wanting a 1st Gen 4runner that hasnt been completly trashed. But good job man, alot of respect for saving it.

just an update: finaly got some 5:29's installed and am about to embark on long travel front / 63 rear springs. more pics to come

for every one who wants to know about the scoop it's a factory ford 79-82 mustang shelby scoop. it fits the yota hood like it was made for it and has 6 bolts that hold it down.
