HEI for the 22r and 22rec

ok guys, does anyone know of an HEI system that can go into the 22r and/or the 22rec? i have 2 22r's and 1 22rec, between the 2 trucks i have. both trucks are 85's. one of the engines in out of a 93 and was a 22rec and got converted to a 22r. i like the carbs better than the inj. want to go to the Weber 34/34 on everything.
but back to the point, is there an HEI system for the 22r and 22rec engines?

thanks for your help and info.

just use the one off a 22r. all it takes is a hot wire

If I were carb'd, I'd probably look at a CDI system first. If that didn't work, I'd stick with stock.
After all, what do you mean by HEI?

High-Energy Ignition system (HEI). These HEI systems fire a considerably "hotter" (increased voltage) and "fatter" (higher amperage) spark across the spark plug electrodes.

on 22rs i doubt youll see much differnece. thats for big block vhevies and fords. performnce engines. and a performnce engine 22r/22re is not.

Uh... HEI pretty much came standard on a lot of cars by the mid-80's and was by no means limited by engine size and performance. Granted I have not looked to see if these are points or not, but they're probably fine. There won't be a power difference, but perhaps a smoother-running engine and a PINCH of fuel mileage.

There were threads floating around on using the HEI from a mid 80's Chevy straight 6. THose engines were crap, they made the intake and head a one piece mold in those days.
