fiberglass bedsides install

ok, ive never done this before and have no idea where to begin. i know there welded on or spot welded or something and have to be drilled and cut off. for a 2nd gen pickup, where do i start?

my plan so far is to take out the inner bed panels and just start unbolting and in screwing things that look like there holding it together.

then once its off how do i bolt it on?

im lost, help me

Heres what i would think ....

Mounting should not be very difficult , but most defanatly will take some skill . getting to a suitable mounting skeleton is the hardest thing . 84-88 Never had a replaceable skin .....

First you'll have to cut off the old side , cutting the panel/floor as close to the edge as possible . Then making a support structure would be next . Along the floor a 90 deg bonding strip would be added , fitting the panel , and making sure the strip fits to the panel ... make sure the wheel well area has a good bonding strip , about 3/4~1 inch . The rear valance area will have to be bonded to the new glass panel as well .

Good luck .
