in cab winch controls?
Has anyone utilized a rear window momentary switch for "factory" in cab winch controls?

Depends just how you plan to use it.
Just what your using it on which brand winch I am sure building the proper control circuit it could be done. I have moved the complete Winch Solenoids in the cab |
I'm probably using a Smittybilt 9,500lb winch (I think they are 3-wire). I had this setup in my FZJ80 with a 12,000lb Warn using the LC antenna up/down switch. It was wired as shown on Slee's website.
It should be easy enough, just was curious if anyone had done it. It should be easier than in the FZJ80 as the antenna switch you can push up and down at the same time so you have to wire to ensure that the winch does not get power to in and out relays at the same time. With the window momentary rocker switch in the 4runner, I don't need to worry about that. |

Finally bought the winch & wired it up. I had a spare rear window defroster switch and located it in the clutch cancel position position as an arming switch for the winch controls. This should avert any accidental winching. The extra window switch is in the defroster location and a handy location for when I want to operate the winch.
I also picked up a 24" LED light bar and when wiring the relay, tied the trigger into the high beam circuit. It helps considerably since the original headlights are like driving with a cheap flashlight. Some day I will upgrade to H4s, until then, this will help me keep an eye out for the elk and other critters. Attachment 104333 Attachment 104334 |
