The actuator in the afm throat is starting the fuel pump as it should. the vehicle sat for a long time. two sets of mobile mechanics have been unable to fix it. Fuel pump has been changed. My next step is to run an independent power source to the fuel pump to make sure the ecu is not switching it off. I welcome suggestions

Your a little off there The switch in the AFM keeps the fuel pump running after the engine is running
There are two coils in the Circuit opening relay one just might be open
None of those Mechanics knew enough to troubleshoot fuel problems by jumping B+ to FP on the check connector
That bypasses all the switches and the Circuit opening Relay unless you have physical damage to the wires no reason to hot wire the fuel pump

we had this issue after ours sat. it would run about 5-10 seconds great then die. it was because the injectors rusted closed. id bet money its your issue. if it will keep running on carb cleaner, there you go
