85 growling a bit

So my 85 sat for a while (1 year). I had a buddy that got stuck so I offered to pull him out truck was running great. Put it in 4 wheel low locked the hubs and pulled him out in reverse. After doing so my truck makes a loud growl from 15 mph or faster nothing at idle. Truck runs fine other than that. Transmission is stock and shifts fine. I have marlin 4.7 case that also shifts fine. Carrier bearing is brand new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Its growling because you let it sit. Toys like to be used and abused. My '84 gets stiff and mad when I let 'er sit for a week... After about 5 miles, she's happy and settles down and runs flawless...

I would venture to say motor mount or trans crossmember mount? Pulling in 4-LO can really tweak the factory rubber mounts, sometimes causing them to shear. Might be worth a look anyway.

You may also want to examine your exhaust closely. Sometimes the multiplied torque can shift the exhaust out of the hangers or even bend the pipe, causing it to rub on the frame or crossmember.

I will definitely check that out. I've replaced the exhaust since
