22RE swap
 

I have an 84 with a 22R in it and just picked up a 85 22RE engine for it, heard rumors that my fuel tank wont work, is it true? also what else is there i need to swap? I got complete engine, wiring harness and computer for it. thanks for any replies

youll need a new tank and electric fuel pump to go inside it. the only problem i had was with my wire harness and it was because the donor motor had an auto harness and mine had the manual trans so i have to jumper the neutral switch

k thanks, i got the tank and pump with it. only thing it didnt come with was the fuel level sending unit

High pressure fuel lines
EFI fuel tank
Fuel pump wiring harness
Dash wiring harness
Engine wiring harness

I just the same thing with my 85 except the fuel tank from the wreaked 89 4runner I salvaged won't fit. i hope your tank is from the 85 as that should fit well. if you're in cali then you'll also have to make sure you also get the exhaust too and all the smog stuff. Has to look stock for visual inspection here too.
