22RE rough idle and cruising speed?
Hey guys just bought a 1985 pickup with the 22re and have ran into my first issue. Now when the trucks warms up it has a very lopey idle, it sounds like its got a big cam in it and it also smells like its running rich, also when I'm at a constant cruising speed it hesitates and sputters. Now I'm thinking that it is a sensor of some sort but not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is great!!! I got the same problem bro! Don't know for the life of me what it is. I'll let you know what I did and I still have the same issue.
I took the entire intake plenum off and had it cleaned. Took me 2.5 hours in a parts cleaner bay and I took the 1'' thick layer of garbage off the inside.
Cleaned the throttle body,
Adjusted tps, then got another tps. Checked the Resistance to make sure that it was adjusted right.
New Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor
New Cold Temp Switch. (one closest to the motor below the upper radiator hose)
Adjusted timing....
Adjusted AFM 6 Teeth Richer. In fact, it resolved my issue for a couple starts, and I guess the computer readjusted back to a lean condition... Need to get an Air Ratio Meter....
I just got mine too, and I have had this problem since I got it. Driving me crazy. I feel your pain.
Anyways, hope this helps a little, gives your ideas on things to check I guess?

Yes thanks this helps, still in the process of checking vacuum lines, replaced a few things but still not helping, now the truck stalls at stoplights so the problem is getting worse. And I know what you mean its driving me more crazy everyday.
