1984 4X4 Pickup 22R install aftermarket tachometer NEED HELP!

OK I recently installed a Sunpro tachometer I followed instructions very carefully. the tach wires are, white (lights) , black (ground), green (tach plug on igniter) red (power on in off from ignition at fuse box) and only works sometimes there's power going to it the light in it works and when I turn the ignition key it jumps to 0. PLEASE HELP!! THANKS

Heres my 2 cents I assume when you say it works sometimes that the tach will show the correct rpm sometimes then stop ? you could try taking the green wire and attach it to the neg terminal on the coil. you made sure the switch on the back of the tach is set to 4cyl ? last but not least that there are no loose connections.I hope this helps and I feel your pain.

Yes sometimes it works, or when I start the truck and start driving it's off and then along the way sometimes it just turns on automatically vice versa. and yes the back switch of the tach is set to 4 cylinder. right now it's hooked up to the ignitor tach wire I'm going to switch it to the coil negative terminal and see what happens. Thanks for the input buddy I will post update

I'm not a fan of Sunpro. I've had horrendous experiences with them. The ones on my rigs (when I got them) got removed and destroyed. Customers/friends rigs had them removed as well. Autometer or VDO for me.

I have only seen ONE Sunpro work continuously. Buddies '69(?) Fairlane GT.

Yeah I'm not a fan of them either but it was cheap, but to go back to the problem I was having it turns out I moved a ground wire to a better location and now it seems to be working with no problems. But I'm definitely going to save some cash so I can get me a real good autometer! thanks for the info and help guys much appreciated
