wont start back fires out carb and exhaust
i have a 86 4runner with a early 80s 22r it has a weber and header and everthing else is stock i replaced head gasket intake gasket exhaust and oil pan gaskets and timing cover gaskets the timing chain did come off but i put it back on correctly the motor went back together and it acts like it wants to start but then it starts back firing out carb and exhaust my valve timing is lined up correctly ignition timing is correct and i have spark compression is at about 150 psi in all 4 cylinders i re adjusted valves and fuel pressure regulator is at 2.5 psi still wont start with the same symtoms
any one know of anything else that could be wrong i am stumped any suggestions would be very appreciated thank you |
seen this before- timing
that's timing for sure, either you blew your timing belt or its just on wrong. re-check your timing marks.
^ if its attempting to run, I don't think the chain is off. I'd start by shooting a timing light at it and adjusting the timing.
your distributor is 180 off. I did the same thing on my rebuild.
Ya same thing happened to my Volkswagen when the timing belt skipped forward because of a loose tensioner, chain is either slightly off(1 tooth?) or your distributor is 180 degrees off as said before.
yep im an idiot plug wires were on wrong thanks for being nice and not calling me a dumbass
