Throwout bearing issues...
Ok, this may seem trivial, but I am getting parts together for my L43 to L45 tranny swap in my second truck. Got output/input seals, slave cylinder, input bearing, and release/throwout bearing. Now, I have the throwout on the shaft that goes on the input shaft, but am not 100% sure how this assembly goes together. Looked in a FSM I have, and from what I can tell, I should have pins to attach the bearing and hub to the shift fork. I have no clips. Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill, or should I hope and pray that the trans I am about to pull has them?
If anyone has pics of this assembly, it would speak volumes! |
Maybe you need them to hold the release bearing to the fork.
Your transmission your pulling should have them. This is one of those things that can put a halt to your plans at the worst time seems to happen to me all the time:fire2: |
Let me know if this helps

That's how I figured they went together. Real pics are always better than the ones in the FSM, Haynes or Chilton. I found clips for less than $2 a piece if the other trans doesn't have them, but like you said, it's one of those little things that will stop you in your tracks.
Thanks again for the pics. |
Yep, no problem. I see no reason why the donor wouldn't have them, though.
