T-Case supposed to spin while trans in N?

Hello, just finished my rear main seal and rebuilt manual trans with new clutch. I moved the truck out of the garage and started it (No driveshafts installed) and while in N the flange on the T-case spin. I can grab it and it will stop and start up again when I let go but wondering if I screwed up the clutch and its not fully disengaging. The same with the front flange on the t-case, even while in 2hi it will spin and I can grab it and it will stop then start again when I let go.

Thanks
Mike

The flange does stop if the clutch is depressed. So I guess it is disengaging. Been working on it all day and am beat. I am guessing the spinning of the flange in N is just friction from all the internals of the trans. I hope.

Yes, due to the viscous qualities of your oil there is drag from the input shaft to main shaft through mutiple bearings.

yea, just the oils. If you've ever driven without a shiftboot, you can get a perfect view of the front driveshaft, and when it's cold out you can see it spin slowly while driving in 2wd with the hubs unlocked.
