Hello!
I am putting back together my 1982 pickup with the 22r. the engine and transmission are brand new.
I was looking at the distributor to the ignitor wiring and the tape was oily and cracking. I took it apart to clean/ maybe rewire it, and there was a bare wire wrapped along the entire length of the two normal distributor wires. the bare wire seemed to be a ground, it ended at the screws that hold the bottom of the ignitor together.
My question is do I just rewire the ground into the two wires, or do I re wrap the ground along the two wires again.
The truck ran fine when it was taken apart and the wiring was not touched until now.
Thanks for any help!!!!
