Rebult my SC 22r motor. not starting

Okay, so 82 22r with a camden supercharger and a holley 500. This ran and I burned my rings up.. (possible fuel starvation at higher rpm)
Block is decked and bored 40 over. ( this was the shops first 4cly) I put 22rte pistons in it. (seemed like the thing to do)
and ngk BKR7E spark plugs
Okay, so lets ignore the part that I probably put the motor together wrong for now.

Motor turns with the starter... pretty good start. set the timing at 0 tdc disttributer at 9'oclock.
I've got some fuel.. Currently dont have my main fuel pump wired and plumbed. so I've got 4psi. the holley wants more... (I should be able to get it to start though right?)
put the timing light on all 4 plug wires... shes firing.

Okay, so what should I start with thats easiest and dumbest.
Do I need to have more fuel pressure?
Is there a good way to check to see if its actually set right... ( take valve cover off, turn by hand and watch ˟˟˟˟ move... what am i looking for?)

Even if its not running, timing light should go off on the tick mark when on wire 1, would that be the best way to check? ( I need a second person for that) Or wire a remote starter I know.
where should I set the adjustment for the distributor? all the way down all the way up? right in the middle.

Okay, I think I set the timing right, building this thing. lining up the special chain link with the tick mark and all that jazz, but there was two special links...
Side note, if I need to pull this ˟˟˟˟er back apart. Ive heard people say I need to retard my timing... should I not be on the special link? does the distributor not have enough for that?
Also theres a little "screw" in the distributor for adjustments too.. Its under octaine ratings in the owners manual. to adjust for the octane of the gas.

I had my other motor in there 22re with a weber. so same distributor, was working
