Hey its been awhile guys, i have a build thread from a few months ago, and just yesterday got in my 1980 first gen 4x4 for the first time since winter.. it was awesome but it still has the back 3 inch lifted springs that came on it all around when i got it. since then i have put the stock springs in the front, and today i finally got the energy to put my used set of stock rear springs in to level it out and get that nasty lift out.(i know im one of the weird ones) my question(s) are this:

where can i get front springs that are STOCK height as in no lift

and 2: whats up with the damn front bushing on the stock first gen 4runner rear leaf springs? when i got the set of used springs the guy said he had taken them off his 4runner, and assured me they would work, but my bold doesnt go through the front bushing!! i need a rear leaf spring that uses(in both eyes) the bushings that are all rubber(or urithane) and NOT the ones that have a metal to rubber to metal bushing. can you guys tell me what to do? keep in mind this is a restore project not a crawler, so having some fab shop charge me 200 bucks PER leaf spring isn't my answer.

I have been needing new front springs on mine and ended up ordering from General Spring KC. It came out to $299 shipped Fed Ex ground.

if you can wait a month, you can have my stock rears. they are fairly flat, but in decent shape (not bent or broken).

ya the ones form a 4runner or a newer truck have the different bushing. you need to get ones from a 1st gen truck

i actually made it work, i removed the center metal part thats integraded into the rubber, and SHOVED the new bushing in, shaving a little of the original rubber away at a time. they work great!

I'm having the same problem. Had to cut the old bushing out and the dealer has been no help (they keep ordering parts that do not fit.)
