Highway Speeds

As I start working on my 82, I'm having questions about just how it's going to do on the highway driving to the trails.

Ultimately it will have:
5.29 gears
L50 5spd trans (currently an L45 4spd trans)
35" tires
minor engine mods (no emissions and full exhaust with header)

So what I want to know is, will I be able to do 60-80MPH on the highway so I can actually get to trails while the sun is still up?
I don't care about being able to pass people, I just want to be able to do closer to the speed limit or a bit over.

youll be around 3k rpms at 60 mph and 4k rpms at 80 mph

i calculated that taking the 5.29s and 35s into consideration, nothing about engine mods. those shouldnt change anything drastically

My 80 with stock 4:37 and 33's will do 80mph on the highway with little effort. They are pretty peppy little engines, and with a weber carb, headman headers and 2 1/4" exhaust, it only makes better.

I used to drive mine on I-25 from Fort Collins to CO Springs and back almost every weekend (150 miles) and would pass people the whole way.

As long as you go to 5.29 with the 35's you will have no problems!
