High Steer on 1st gen?
Has anyone noticed or is it just me? Ever since I converted to the high steer set up it seems I have to turn the wheel twice as much as before to get from lock to lock. Obviously the gear box ratio is different, as is the whole set up. Is this common or is there a different year or model steering gear box I can get to help this out? Thanks!

the steering box I got was off a 94 or 95 supposedly it is a close ratio box...it is so much better than the old junk i had, which I knew where the info came from, not having any luck verifying that info...
there are early 86-88 (894runner) Truck and late 89-95 steering boxes.
early box on left, late box on right, it is about 1" longer (pic from Pirate FAQ)

Old push pull steering works but it is useless for lift and big tires. High steer is infinitely better. I've never noticed a difference in number of turns from lock to lock and never cared.
