Hmmm...I've never heard of an 83 Mirage, 82 Mirage yes. It was my understanding the Mirage was offered in Canada in 1982 and the Mojave in 1983. You have to remember that just because it was or wasn't in Canada that it was not same situation in the US of A. Perhaps in the US there was an 1983 Mirage...that's just how it was and still is to a degree.
If my memory is correct 'Slackers' and 'Mudhippys' pictures are about what I remember. However the tailgate stickers produced by 'James Dean' are not correct for that era of Canadian trucks, but you got to take what you can get. The Canadian stickers were just 4WD on the right and SR5 on the left, and the 'font' used is incorrect..at least on my 83. (It did not spell out 4wheeldrive) Don't worry only us old farts who bought theirs new will know! I may have a 35mm photo somewhere of the back of the truck and will post if I can find it.
The 'Mirage' was simply a dress-up of the SR5. (as was the Mojave) It had chrome wheels (which the Canadian SR5 didn't have as standard) chrome bumpers, the back was the standard square tube type, not the round one in the pictures. It also had a single tube rollbar, no grill guard or nerf bars. The paint was a metallic charcoal grey and it did kind of shimmer in the light. If I recall it was about a grand more then the base SR5, which ran about $10000 new in Canada...our consensus was you were paying a lot for a bunch off stickers, but it did look sharp!
