83 4x4 crossmember bolt problems

Kawa, how did you get the flat bar with bolts welded to it into the frame? Is there an opening somewhere?
When I changed my clutch I was lucky and got 3 of those bolts out, and only one sat ans spun. It was loose enough I could rotate the cross member out of my way and do the clutch job. And luckily it torqued back up when I put the cross member back in place. Weird. I will be doing the job again within a month (Marlin Crawler tranny coming) and I'll make sure to apply anti-seize to the bolts, if I can get it apart again.

There are openings in the frame members that you can slip the flat stock into. I will be making some of these "inverted nutsets" today. Where do I send my residual check?

I had one pop the nut loose on the inside of the frame. I ended up cutting him off.
The threads are 12x1.25 I chased the others out (like every nut on the truck that I have removed)
Threads were boogered up on all the bolts from PO's. So I found new/old Toyota cross member bolts I had lying around from other projects.
buy a metric tap set if you don't have one, and chase, chase, chase.
the 12x1.25 wasn't in my Crapsman set, had to order him separately.
I have seven of my 8 cross member bolts, and am alright with this.
