82 Toyota Factory Service manual

Just found this on ebay, 1982 Toyota Factory Service Manual for Trucks:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982-...spagenameZWDVW

Right now the bidding is only $10, auction ends at 9:52PM tonight..

The FSM's are a lot better than a worthless Chilton's or Haynes Manual
I already have one...Thought maybe someone here might snatch this one up:bigok:

Thanks for the heads up. Fred:D

Can't believe how much people spend on these things. I must have lucked out, I got mine for 9 dollars shipped on ebay a couple years ago.

You got an awesome deal. I paid around $50 for mine with the shipping. To me it was worth it, I ended up taking the chilton's POS back because it was worthless....
I would love to have the time sometime to scan all the pages and get it online for people....

I agree, I use it all the time. I was kind of dissapointed that it does not show any part of the actual gas tank. It tells you how to take it out, but not that there is a filter inside and stuff. We should get a group of people together and everyone just do PDF's of a chapter.

if only i had an 82

fredbauer 03-15-2008 05:08 PM

Yes I ended up getting it.:D I think a pro buyer tried to screw me out of it though. Last minute of the bid went from $ 20.53 to $37 +, he bumped twice before time ran out. He had over 2500 purchases on ebay. I really needed a FSM badly and this one is supposed to be mint. Great idea about scanning one for this site. Would there be any legal problems sharing info?? Just glad I finally found one. Thanks again. :D Fred

You can share all the info you want. And should! Cept i dont have an 82 so wont help me, but many people here do!

WSUWESTON 03-15-2008 07:54 PM

I don't know if there would be any legal issue, I added the link to the yotatech sticky for online Service Manuals, they start out with info on '85 on up. I downloaded the one for my '05 Tacoma and it is great just being able to print out a page or whatever I need for that.

The one you ended up with appears to be in better shape than the one I got last year.

Not a big deal. I already have one. Just gonna pick up a nicer one if I find one cheap enough.

Hi I am in the middle of rebuilding the engine in my 1982 Toyota RV. Does anyone have the 82 service mamual for download? Or can you send it to me? I have the 85 service manual, do things like ring gap and valve clearance, and torque differ?

Oh, okay so the information for the 85 is the same as the 82? The link says 79-85, but the download is for the 85 only...

Maybe not. But 83 probably is.

Thank you very much for that! The only issue is that from 1981-1982 Toyota had the steel rockers and actually a "two year" head. Trust me, I know this, I tried to get a different head for it.

I did check, and the ring gap specs for the 83 are tighter than the 85.
