82" IFS upgrade (brake line q)
oi my brothern!
like i stated in the title, im doing the IFS upgrade, dust cover eliminator all that good stuff.
purchased the extended brakelines from MC and what i want to know....... is the metal line that comes off the caliper directly and clips to the dust cover something i can bypass?
can i use like a banjo bolt and go straight to the caliper with the braided line?

It can be done but why would you want to? The short section of hard line works good at keeping the hose out of harms way. The only benefit I see doing so, is to make the caliper easier to remove without opening the hydraulics. Most people work around that problem by cutting a notch in the bracket that holds the hard line so it can be slipped through with the clip removed.

1- simply, to make it look cleaner. (imo)
2- i dont see how that hardline is any less vulnerable to being damaged opposed to the braided.
3- still planning to secure the line to keep it away from rubs and pinches.
lets focus on the "it can be done" part.

Not trying to be lame and not reply. I just happen to have a life outside of yotatech. If you dont like the forums here your always welcome to join another.
To answer your question, you can use an extended rear brake hose to connect the caliper directly to the hardline on the frame rail. You can also connect more than one together to make it longer if need be. I'd recommend just getting the correct length though as it makes for just one less connection to leak.
