81 sr5 22r no power in 4th and 5th gear?

I hate to over simplify, but my truck has been modded quite a bit and still is weak in 4th gear under 40 mph, you sure your truck has a problem other than the gutless 22r? The first thing that popped into my mind when I read the first post was 'welcome to the world of 3200+lb truck, high off the ground, with anemic 95hp engine.'
Power on these guys in 4th gear stock is quite poor. Try shifting into 4th at 40+ mph.

It was the distributor for us
We took apart the distributor and found that the bearings in the vacuum advance were Real stiff. We are going to oil it and put it back in and see if that fixes the problem, then if so get a new distributor.
