79-83 Wheelbase Measurements LB vs. SB

Can someone take some measurements? I was looking at a frame in junk yard with no bed and no axles... Hard to tell what it is ...

Also, How long is the bed itself? Long Bed and Short Bed?

Thanks from a Newbie!

well IIRC the short bed inside is a little over 6', and the long bed a little under/over 8'

Shortbox = 102"

Longbox = 112"

Those aren't exact but close.

From http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/faq/
"
two configurations offered were a shortbed with a 103" wheelbase and a longbed with a 109" wheelbase"

So I went to the yard Thursday. There was only one 1st Gen 4X4.. It was a shortbed too ... But it took a hard hit in the pass front fender.... tweaked the frame... but there was no rust!!!

Ther were about six 2wd's... some long some short beds... no rust in the beds but they all had some sort of damage....

The simplest way to tell long Vs. short seems to be the distance between the two mounts at the back of the cab and the bed.. They're either about 5" apart or 11" ... quickest way to ID that I can tell .. .
