4wd fender instead of 2wd fender?
Hi, first post here...
My daughter backed into my 82' 2wd and killed the bumper, valance, and driver side fender. I can't seem to find a replacement fender since all I find are for 4wd. Does anyone know the difference between them? don't mind replacing both to make them look the same. Thanks for any help. |
The 4wd fender has a big flare with a bigger wheelwell opening. While it will probably bolt up, it isn't even close to looking right. Did you check rockauto.com? The last time I checked all they had were 2wd fenders. That might have changed now though. Don't put a 4wd fender on it.

it will bolt on fine, there is a 2WD running around my neighborhood with 4WD front fenders and the 4WD flares on the back, it is lowered with wider tires, sort of looks cool if done right
some info https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f114...rences-256517/ rear flares for sale https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f109...flares-307843/ |
Thanks for yalls help. Don't want to put 4wd fenders on, but will look better then a crumpled one I think. Only 2wd one I have found is on ebay, 1200 miles away.

What you could do is install a 4WD fender (or a pair of them) on your truck for now, and keep an eye open for a 2WD fender that you can swap on in the future.
What area do you live? The West Coast of the U.S. is probably your best bet for used parts. :safari: |
I say go for it! As dropzone said, if done correctly, and with rear 4WD flares it could look rad! Just my .02.
