Hey guys I have purchaced/inherited a old tractor that at some point has gotten a 20r and a 4spd trans so my question is how do I get more torque out of this old,yota I have plenty gear reduction but would be nice bot to be in 1st gear in both transmissions ya know :coffee:

Others may have better ideas, but I'm going to go ahead and say that "it is what it is". Other than a tuneup, there's really not much worth doing to it. It's a great engine, and wasn't meant for more than it was built for.

put in a 22r and torquer cam, or if you have the budget, a 2.6L stroker from lce.
Oh, and I'd really like to see some pics!

It's all relative. For an engine of it's era (early 70's) and displacement they actually are pretty torquey. Peak numbers aren't jaw-dropping but making peak torque under 3k RPM isn't too shabby.
