1983 4wd restoration
hi, im new to this forum but not new to Toyota vehicles. im 25, live in Alabama, and am restoring my second 1983 Toyota 4wd pickup. I will post pics once I figure out how.....all that aside, I am on a parts search. some parts were easy to find but some aren't so hopefully, this thread will turn into A PLACE FOR GUYS TRYING TO RESTORE THEIR FIRST GENS TO FIND QUALITY REPLACEMENT/ OEM PART NUMBERS, RETAILERS, WHOLESALERS, ETC.
I have been looking high and low for a replacement grille assembly in CHROME. the part number is 5310095120 or cross reference TO1200112 in some cases. so far, no luck with finding a company who has this chrome part in stock; only black is available. none of them seem to know when it will be in stock. Even ebay stores are out of stock on them. anybody have info on this?

I think I posted this in another thread for you somewhere, but here it is again:

If you go to the first post in my build thread here:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f197...-build-264229/
I have listed most all of the parts that I have bought for my truck and their sources. I try to update that post regularly. Typically, where ever I buy a part from it will be well researched and the cheapest available. If you're looking for specific parts that you can't find, I would recommend starting a build thread (if you haven't already) in the build-up section and just include some wanted parts and/or parts numbers in your posts. People, like me, are constantly trolling these forums and have had the same struggles finding parts, may have the part or may know where to find them or look for them. Another great source for original parts numbers is:
http://www.villagetoyotaparts.com/default.aspx
I use them all the time to find part numbers and diagrams. I wouldn't order parts from them since they are mostly out of stock (even if they say they are available), but you can at least get the proper part numbers for what you are looking for.

I had major difficulties sourcing a factory chrome right hand mirror when I was building my trekker . I couldn't find a used one either , so after searching for about 2 years , I found a company in Cali. that did "plastic chrome " , true show chrome dip , just like factory . It was not cheep , $300.00 for 1 mirror , but it was absolutely perfect , and I'm glad I did it
