List of parts needed for my 84 4wd base cab restore

Hi all,
Here is a list of parts that i need for my restoration of my:
1984 4wd standard base cab 5 speed manual trans RN60
I have found that "only" 84 & 85 &86 4 runners and pickups match exactly despite what you've heard that 84-88 are the same, they are not!
1 Dash pad in gray
2) SR5 cluster, again must be the same as mine so it all matches.
3) rear mud/splash guards with 4wd in white, original oem. I have the mounting brackets.
4) Engine compartment fuse box cover.

Pretty sure you can add 86 as well. 87 was the year the interior had the interior design change.

Can you dig up a photo of the fuse box cover you need? I might have one. I have an 86 gray dash frame too, but shipping might be a bit expensive. I should also have an 87 horn, got two 87 trucks here semi together, so out of them I should be able to dig up a horn that functions and the pig tail off the harness.

Hi Cory
Picture of the fuse cover that I'm missing.........................dah Ha ha ha
Are you sure about the 86??
I really think that when they went to the IRS they changed the interior a bit. Not sure though.
Can you take a few pics of the frame, is it clean? no problems where the parts of the frame show in the dash areas. I'd prefer to get all the parts out of one truck so everything matches color wise. But.............
Yea. i think the horn is the same on a 84 vs 87....i think
Let me know,
Thanks
Mike

Pretty sure the horn is the same from 84 - 95 on pickups, 93-98 t100s etc. The tone changed slightly when I put a 93 horn on my 98 t100 but it plugged in and mounted the same.

By dig up a photo, I meant either take a pic of yours (if you had one broken or something), or search google images for it. Do you need it to be OEM correct? Pretty sure both versions of the cover are the same layout, just the styling is different, but I'd have to look at some photos to be sure. I do know they interchange for fitments sake.

85 into 86 was the IFS change, interior didn't change. 84 into 85 was the EFI addition for the 22r, 86 into 87 was the interior update. Interior parts still interchange, just the cluster cover and passenger dash pad have to match to fit properly. As you saw in the other thread, 84-86 air vents are different from the 87+ ones.

I would have to check on the dash frames to see their exact condition, I kept them so they are not completely wasted, but I also saved them with the logic that they would be a somewhat hard part to find in 5-10 years since no one will be parting these trucks out I suspect. Pretty sure out of 3 I'll have a good one. I'm in no rush, so you can use me a a backup source for the part. Local would work best for you due to the size of the dash, but if you can get all the other dash parts for a good deal w\o the frame I'll have one or three lol.

Too bad you didn't need brown instead, I have a fair share of brown parts still from a couple 86 pickups.

Here's photos from online for the different fuse box covers (the L shaped one), there's also a straight fuse box under the hood too, I think all years were the same for that one.

Looks like OEM correct is the white lettering one based on the Haz-Horn fuse being 10amp vs 15amp.

Just noticed I didn't reply to your question, pretty sure I sold all the 86 and older fuse covers like the first pic. Pretty sure I went and looked and couldn't find one in my stockpile of parts.

Good luck on the parts search.
