1985 P/U Xtracab Old Dirty Worn Carpet
I just replaced my carpet and was wondering if anyone had interest in the old one. Its in a bad shape as its stained, smelly (or has its own unique musk), worn, and split in two. However, everything is obviously pre-cut and ready to go for the right individual. I am just throwing this out there as I know parts are hard to find. If there is no interest, I will throw away in the trash. I am located in SoCal so buyer needs to factor shipping. Its not that heavy and since its split in two might be able to fit in a Fedex or USPS tube box.

Too bad it isnt brown or tan or I would be intrested in it. I need to replace mine and doing all the cut out and trimming is a pain. You would be surprised at what a carwash sprayer can do to old carpet. Makes a big difference.

Speaking of pain in the butt for the cutting, the pic below gives you an idea of the amount of cutting and trial and error process to get it right. I thought I had taken an after picture but I couldnt find anything probably because it was late at night. I still need to add insulation to the flooring so I will have an opportunity to do the after pic.

Where did you buy your new carpet? Ive got a gray interior x-cab so this is tempting, as i just have the DX rubber flooring. But im across the country

I purchased from Rockauto.com, cost about $180 for the carpet with backing including shipping and handling. I have seen these on eBay too but Rockauto seems to be the cheapest. The carpets are remanufactured by Auto Custom Carpet and as mentioned before, the installation is very time consuming to get it right.
Keep in mind my carpet was cut in half, I believe to make an audio installation easier. I am not looking for big money, just want to make sure it goes to good use vs. my trash. Make an offer and I get try to get an estimated shipping cost. |
I have been getting mine from stockinteriors.com and they too have about 2-3inches excess all the way around that you have to trim off. About the only thing replacement carpets have is the molds pressed in to them.
A little trick that does help me when installing carpet is to put all the bolts in on the bare floor. After you get your carpet fitted, cut an "X" over the bolt and work it thru. |
$??
Willing to donate them to a good home?? ") I'll pay for shipping of course.
|
Yes, rather it go to a good home than the trash can. I was only looking for like $5 or $10. I can get a shipping estimate to El Paso and get back to you.
|
So the shipping comes out to roughly $25 either through Fedex or USPS using 79901 Zip Code. There are a lot of zip codes for El Paso so I am assuming its all the same. The weight is 13.3 lbs fit in a box measuring 28" x 16" x 8.25". Lets call its $35 and we have a deal. PM me if you are interested and I can share my email address for payment on Paypal.
