'88 Toyota Pickup, fuel injected, 4wd, 5 speed manual transmission. 378k on the odometer and I have every reason to believe this is accurate. Engine is a donor from a different truck, has about 160k on it.
This truck spent most of its life in California and came to New England in 2018 and has never been driven in winter. The frame still has the factory paint on it and has a little surface rust on the welded seams but that's it.
Transfer case, gearbox, manual locking hubs work perfectly.
Factory ride height, not lifted, riding on 31" tires that only have a few hundred miles on them.
This truck is nearly all bone stock. Modifications: took out the interior carpet and herculiner-ed the floor of the cab instead, herculiner in the bed, recovered the cracked dash with vinyl, blower motor circuit kept draining the battery even when the fan selector was "off" so a master switch was hardwired in. Rear bumper is homemade. EGR delete.
The bad:
-The classic bed seam rust, has been patched
-Could use a new coat of paint
-A few rust spots beginning around the doors
-Muffler is kind of rusty. No holes
The good:
-Most solid frame you will ever find on one of these trucks. Bed mounts, cab mounts, crossmember, everything. Never been patched.
-Head gasket redone 40k miles ago
-Battery from 2023
-All of the following have been replaced in the past four years:
--fan clutch
--radiator
--all coolant hoses
--brakes
--transmission/transfer case/diff oil
--fuel injector seals
--brake master and slave cylinders
--clutch slave cylinder
--all brake lines. All of them. One at a time as each one took its turn springing a leak. Ask me how that experience was.
--fan belts
--windshield
--vent windows pulled from an SR5 and swapped into this truck
--all four shocks
--cap and rotor and wires
--motor mounts
--more that I'm not thinking of I'm sure
I love this truck and I'm moving and can't take it with me.
