Alltrade 8-pc rachet wrench set at Costco

i bought yesterday $20.89+tax for the set, under the name of Mastergrip. very good polished finish, feels very solid. lifttime warranty, made in taiwan, plus Costco's return policy is no BS just in case it doesn't work up to your expectations.

it sure beats the $90 Craftsman set on the price.

Nice find. Hope they work well for you. I got my craftsmen set for $30. You can find them cheap, you just have to wait until the have a really good sale. The newer style with the pivoting heads are a little more expensive.

i have to go there and see, i hear costco is the bomb for that stuff. they have the cheapest oil, optima batteries, and now freaking tools... jesus..

I picked up that set a few weeks ago.... so so nice to have.

On a side note costco return policy is the best. We once were on a vacation and our digital camera we bought at costco 2 years ago broke. (we droped it) there was a costco near buy so we brought the camera in to see where we would need to send it for repair.

They looked up the camera purchase on there computer and after proveing we bought it at costco they told us to go pick out a new camera for the same price that we paid for that one 2 years ago. VERY cool, they let us return a camera to a diffrent store (in a diffrent state) 2 years after we bought it, because we droped it and broke it.

(they even let us keep the memory card from the old one becuase it had our pics on it still )

I have the craftsman set but I want to get these to keep in the trail tools. Thanks for the find

If every place was like Costco I would never have to buy anything twice!

i bought a set of those wrenches with the pivoting head at canadian tire for like $40 or $50 on sale a few months ago. good price, lifetime warranty, can't beat that.

Their return policy is awesome. I guess thats worth the price you pay for membership.

cheap gas, too. always the lowest prices around town, even lower than Arco's.

Snap-on is the best but they freaking make you pay but my friend who has about $80k in Snap-On stuff says warranties don't mean anything if the tools constantly break like Craftsman does and you have to visit Sear regularly for a replacement.

I'm a cheap tool guy and it does suck when that socket cracks and you are right in the middle of something but I'm also not a pro so I like cheap.

snap-on warranty isn't that good if you are not a pro. these "reps" are pretty leanient when dealing with mechanics, because they are the people who pay the bills. but if you are a weekend warrior, that's another story. i spent some time chatting with a local rep at a dinner few weeks ago, there are many many fine prints regarding snap-on's warranty. for example, it doen't cover any plastic, rubber and wood materials, meaning if you have a rachet with a rubber/plastic grip, any thing happened to that grip, snap-on isn't gonna replace it. for my rachet torque wrench, the only parts under warranty are the gears inside the rachet head, not the rachet head, not the handle, not the grip, not the dail. the rep maybe BS, but you got the idea.

snap on are the best in my opinion, but costco and sears have the best warranty. and i have a craftsman set, have had it for about 3 years and theyve seen the trail, a truck rebuild, ATV work, hammering, etc, and they have held up. ive only had a couple box wrenches break, and sears replaced em free nqa.

Tylerars24 10-26-2007 02:09 PM

I just got a metric double box end racheting wrench set from sears(craftsman) 10mm to 21mm or something 5 piece, no 14mm gonna have to buy that individually

30 bucks
