Surco Safari Rack

I absolutely love mine. It's lightweight and inexpensive compared to the Yakhima racks. I have a spare tire mounted up there, but with it's light weight I wouldn't recommend loading it down too much. You can order a spare tire adapter, light brackets, and even a highlift jack adapter for it.

if you plan to keep the spare tire on a roof rack using stock roof rails i would recommend reinforcing them. I used to keep my spare tire on my roof-rack till it tore all 4 of the tiny sheetmetal screws completely out of the sheet-metal while off-roading. The rack ended up dangling off the side of the truck hanging on only by the wires for the lights coming out of the roof. As a remedy i drilled the holes that had been made out bigger and ran bolts with washers. It won't ever come off after that.

pictures are gone from how i fixed it, the rack has since moved on to a new owner

still loved the rack, the OEM mounting point however is only designed for light loads in mild force conditions.

This is what I see in the rules for this section regarding pictures:

(3) As with the other sections here, please keep pictures sized to 800x600 or less. If you have bigger pixel pictures, turn 'em into a clickable link instated of embedding them here.
One of my pet peeves here, I hate scrolling back and forth to view a HUGE picture and read text at the same time.

I should have been clearer, but I was referring to people asking questions in this thread. This is just a products review section, if you have a question then PM the person or post it in another section.
