Fiberwerx ivan dan 4" bulge fenders
I got these yesterday (02/12/2010) directly from the FIBERWERX warehouse in Santee, CA. E-mailed there sales guy Simon and he hooked me up with directions to there place and even flagged me down on the street cuz I couldn't find the place (damn GPS).
I installed them today, I thought they would be more of a "bolt on" part, but they needed a little more. First appearance the gel coat was scratched on some of the corners and hard edges, which isn't a big deal since they need to be painted and are used for off-road use anyway. After removing the original fenders on my 86' Xtra Cab, I started with the drivers side. Had to position them to where they would line up with the other body parts (door, hood, grill). There were no pre-drilled holes or guide marks. I started by drilling the top hole closest to the windshield once lined up to where I wanted them. Then just marked and drilled where the original mounting holes were. I had to do some sanding on the edge where the door swung open which is expected due to where you position the fender. Over all I was pleased with the fenders but I think they could/should have made the inner portion line up with the stock hood, which ended up being about an inch higher. But then again they are made for a trophy truck.prerunner, running an all fiber body. If I would have gotten their Ivan Dan fiberglass hood to match it would have been "seamless" requiring hood pins. Pro's: 1.Give great clearance for large tires and long travel suspension. 2. Strong/solid construction 3. Smooth white gel coat (although mine was scratched up, probably sat in the warehouse awhile) Not a big deal though. 4. Line up with most existing mounting holes (except right behind the top corner where the door and fender meet right below the mirror). There's a tab but it seemed too small. 5. Great sales staff Con's: 1. Not Marked with pre-existing mounting holes. 2. They don't line up with stock hood. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for after-market fenders. The con's I have listed are only because I am putting them on a street legal vehicle which is only modified with a Pro Comp lift+Body lift+Tires. If I were to have a pre-runner with a full cage, the cons listed would even matter. -RoCk On- |
great review, was considering these, but not so sure now. How well did the inner wells turn out? It's hard to tell through the photos in your album.

I'll take some pics tomorrow of the inner well. It's pretty exposed, theres the wiring that was originally concealed by the stock fender kind of in the open. I'll have to find something to fill the gap to protect it since the plastic piece that used to be in the top of the stock fender obviously doesn't fit anymore.
I definitely think they look badass as well as working like a fender flare without having to bolt on some bulky thing to the outside and adding vertical clearance. By the way they are $300 for a set, or $150 a side. |

Had to be done. |
Here, it's not tomorrow yet though, haha

www.fiberwerx.com also has 1 piece conversion kits to turn your 84-95 pickup into a 2000-2006 tundra.

doesnt look like they have a hood for under 89 model. just the fenders

Hood
They do. I don't know if it's listed on the site since they are re-doing it. But when I bought the fenders, the sales guy asked if I wanted to the get the hood to match because they had it in stock.
I was kind of discouraged with the site too, because when I had looked at it a year or so ago they had more pictures listed for 84-89 models. Now they only have the "Ivan Dan" listing showing a 90's Yota, but they do have it. If you are seriously thinking of purchasing it, call their sales guy at (619) 654-4451 or e-mail him like I did at: sales@fiberwerx.com . I talked to Simon, they are there M-F from like 9-6 Pacific time. I think they have a list of distributors too, but some charge freight. I did find a place with free shipping if your not in the San Diego area. I'll see if I can locate the site again. |
Here's a distributor, although I think you could order directly with no shipping (not sure though). http://shoprockandrolloffroad.com/pr...d=%23T4F-001ID
