I don't care to start another thread about it, but add to that list Duralast U-Joints.

I bought one and not only was the construction cheap and the design flawed, it didn't even fit perfectly in my driveshaft. So in the scrap heap it resides.

Stupid POS had a zerk fitting on it that was located in a position which wouldn't allow for a grease gun to even reach it. Without removing 2 of the end caps, which meant no lubing it while it was installed. Great engineering!:drunk:

lol everyone knows toyota only likes ngk or denso plugs and wires

MCTacodriver Sep 11, 2010 09:29 AM

Well hell, this is good to know, I bought a set of the duralast wires a couple weeks ago but never installed them. Guess I'm going to have to find the receipt so I can return them...

I use NGK Part # 4416 $34 from www.rockauto.com They work great.
U can also get 8mm wires from Magnecor but they are a bit spendy at $95

I hate Autozone--i am surprised they havent been sued for making ˟˟˟˟ that doesnt meet manufactures quality standards!!

t-1hundred Sep 15, 2010 02:09 AM

yup and from then on i now go to napa and havent looked back since!:) i also recently purchased a power steering pump from napa about 2months ago and not one problem yet to occur

hross14 Sep 15, 2010 06:46 AM

Funny--fyi--looks like even our PC spelling of 4 letter words is being sensored.........going to have to start using food names ;)

irab88 Sep 15, 2010 07:37 AM

well that's a pain in the asparagus. not only do the local auto store sell us wires worth crab cakes, but we can't even fudging say a damson cuss word. to jello with them all!
:D

hross14 Sep 15, 2010 01:22 PM

Yeah--thats a bunch of fruiting capacola.

Off topic ..topic maybe -- does not using cuss words really make a difference? You still know what the person would like to say.

Like what the funk is that all about or .........

Interesting. Just out of curiousity, what was the problem you were experiencing with the duralast plug wires? My truck came with a set on it, and i feel they didn't seem to fit very snugly on the spark plugs...banana

my truck would misfire and run like a toilet and i changed the wireset twice already so i was pretty positive it wasnt the wireset UNTILL i waited till it got dark popped the hood while it was running and there was arching from the wireset EVERYWHERE. ........i then woke up and realized i will never ever go to autozone agian and havent looked back since:) my main store now is napa and if napa doesnt carry the part im looking for then to the junk yard:hillbill:

Yazaki, denso, or ngk (in that order).... the ONLY way to go

O...and the u-joints, dont use duralast or the cheapo "brute force" u-joints from v.i.p...

Basically any part that preforms an important role... dont use cheap parts...

hross14 Sep 27, 2010 07:16 AM

Sparkplugs.com and other quality shops are the only parts i use. I try to premptively changed parts so i dont have to shop at Auto "Fruitin Jello" Zone.

Maybe it is time we start compiling folks Autozone parts complaints and start a PR campaign?
