It looks like it is because of the axle re-enforcing welded to the bottom. It flexes like mad though. That rig rocks.

Man that was an awesome trip. It was so good to get out an wheel with everyone again.

Too bad you couldn't make it Mikey and Seth, I guess that means we'll have to go back and wheel there again to make up, darn it. Maby next time we could go the other way, I think it would be cool to drive up heartattack and the squeeze.

Yea, the 84 and 85 solid axles have the lower truss, kinda gives it a gap. The u bolts are torqued down to spec though and I'm sure they'd fit tighter on the 79-83 axles w/o the truss

I think the next weekend trip will be to the Superstitions--maybe early Jan after the Holidays.

Lets hit up Carveacre or Corral Canyon in the next few weeks, or both.

If I have my truck this next weekend (really pushing for it), I would like to hit corral canyon or carvacre for sure.

Seth--are you sure you want to hit up Corral Canyon with that new paint job?

Is it that tight? Do you have chips and whatnot?

I've never been on those trails, and from the looks of your rig you're not goetting too beat up. I'm not afraid to have a couple branches drag on it, but I definitely don't want to be leaning against a rock wall yet.

Corral canyon has some really tight spots but the worst I've gotten is bush/tree scratchs on the paint. Some trails will use rock rails alittle. We should head out there.

If you hit the easy trails in corral canyon all you will get is brush and tree scratches. But some of the other trails like Bronco or Sidewinder, there's more chance of getting rock bites.

I am sure he will chime in, but that is Josh (Phalanx) newly SAS'ed Runner on 32x11.5 BFG's.

It is sweet, and flexes great!!

I agree. Sidewinder and Gunslinger have some really tight spots but I took a Tacoma X-cab with a fiberglass topper through it with no problem so he would be fine also. I dig Corral Canyon. I think I will try some camping there this winter also.

Aw shucks guys...
Yea most of the specs are in my sig. I'm using the 4" all pro springs. The only thing different from the All-Pro kit is smaller shocks and stock '85 bumpstops for more up travel, and the shocks (10" 5150's) still have more downtravel at max droop of the spings. It gets the job done.. You could get even less lift with smaller shackles from Marlin.

Hey anyone down for a day trip on Friday the 25th (Nov)?

Sweet pics!!

We deliberately missed the squeeze cause we worried the 4th Gens might be too wide. I see a new Taco can do it, so we would have been fine. The Taco is an inch or so wider than a 4th Gen.

On the list for next time then.
