San Diego Crew 16-17 DEC Run

Hey guys just wanted to start a trail/trip report thread for us.

Had a great time with everyone. Big turn out! Some pretty mod'd rigs for a faily easy set of runs.

Anyway it was beautiful weather and outstanding scenery out there and we had lots of fun on the trails and in "Camp Fox".

Still not so sure about Ov-Gloves in open flames though! LOL

Pics up later tonight!

Another great run with the SD crew. I was good to see the old faces and good to meet Jason, Steve, and Chris.

The weather was good, had a great Mexican potluck dinner, and the So Cal desert was amazing as ever. Makes me remember why I started wheeling in the first place.

I really enjoyed both trails, and the fun run this morning.

I only took a few pics...

Great weekend boys. Always a good time. It was nice to meet some new faces and reconnect with old ones. We get to see places that others just read about and to be able to enjoy it with others that appeciate this is refreshing. Sorry for the hippie speak.

I took the Sunrise Highway on the way back and there was a good 4" at 5000'. The trees had a nice coating of powder so of course I had to take a short bypass on a fire road. I was beautiful up there.

Thanks again Marc for setting this up.

All hail the fire king - ALEX.

Looking forward to the next run.

Anything online as to how that tent is rigged up Phalanx? It looks very interesting and something I'd like to do. Would be great for winter camping as it keeps everything off the ground.

ecchamberlin 12-17-2006 07:48 PM

Josh will probably chime in but it is an REI tent on a Yakima load warrior with 2 extension kits. He has ran that for awhile and it was soooo windy that night and it is solid up there.

ecchamberlin 12-17-2006 07:53 PM

My wife Jody drove most most of the day on Sat. For a beginner she picks some outstanding lines!

Steve not sure why photobucket sized that shot of your rig so small. For those of you who have never seen a Lexus out on a trail:

Jason, cool that you made it home safe and sound. Yeah that Canon Rebel XT Digital is a nice piece of gear.

Looking at his tire tracks... did he just think gravity was weaker than normal or something? Officially the weirdest line I have ever seen.
