Prairie City (norcal Folsom)

Took the FJ and my 87 4runner and my daughters Quad out to Prairie City OHV park(by Folsom) today. The park is pretty good size, and you can see most of it from the high staging area. The 4x4 area is small and mostly for beginners but there is a staircase, hills, rocks, and mud. There are also some small trenches and other small trails. All in all its pretty fun. There are tables, fire pits BBQ's w/covered areas at the staging areas. It cost $5 to enter per rig. Even if you have a trailer its still only $5. But it cost me $200 to play in the park???? I bent my Lower Control Arm. I wanted to up grade anyway. Here are some pics.

Definitely a fun place to go:)

I went out with a couple other YT'ers to PC today, but they were rolling deep with SAS'd runners. My stock 92 did pretty well. She didn't get to stretch out her legs too much till the end, but I was damn suprised out how well a pure stock 3.0 can do offroad. Open difs, 40% left on the Bridgestone Dueller's.

After that I and another guy, Jack, went out to Latrobe Rd. That's where the real fun was had, by me atleast. jack's runner got a little tippy at one spot.

I had a blast, and I want to go crawling some more, but it aint cheap. At $3.40 a gallon, gas get's pricey...

Oh, and I must add that this was first time ever wheelin. And the truck is only a week and a half old.:guitar:

nice i'm itching to go out, let me know when you guys go out again

JEDI87 05-12-2007 08:34 AM

Me too.

KevinInSac 05-12-2007 11:18 AM

I might be going out next weekend or so with my buddy and his 88 runner. I'll PM you two if/when we go.

UKMyers 05-12-2007 07:20 PM

P.C. Friday the 18th, 4pm till whenever. They close at 8, so maybe around then.

Me and a 87-88 ish runner. Don't know actual year of his rig. Hit me up if you're coming. Maybe we'll get some hot dogs going or something. AIM is going almost all day/night on my phone.

JEDI87 05-15-2007 10:59 AM

Ok, I'll probably go in my 87. I have the top off now too so it'll be fun.

KevinInSac 05-15-2007 02:57 PM

Do to scheduling conflicts, I have to push back an hour or so later... I'm bummed. But three hours at PC, and maybe a trip to Latrobe should make for enough wheelin in one day.

norcalsvx 05-15-2007 03:14 PM

i only got sunday's off

KevinInSac 05-15-2007 08:27 PM

From now, till June 1st I have everyday off. Excpet for school in the mornings MWF for the next two weeks.

Ha! That looks familiar. I've done the same thing (twice, once on each side!) on my rig, a Pathfinder.

Here's my solution:

Are we still doing this? I want to go but will only make the drive if somebody else is too.

Yup. Me and my buddy should be there around 5:30. Maybe sooner, but no later. We plan on going to Latrobe afterwards. If you go, look for the BL'ed 88 Runner, and the Stock 92 Xcab. We'll probably be playing in the back, on the little hill w/ four different terrain types. Don't know what they call it.

It might be kind of hard to go 4 wheeling in a 2wd:hillbill:

Latrobe is a county road, maybe ten min drive away with two 1-1.5 foot deep water crossings, and crawling rangin from easy to extreme. The SAS 1st gen runner got a bit tippy on one section, we were nervous.

This is the close up of the water crossings and the crawling on the side.

Just showing how close it is.
